The South African music scene

I recently had a conversation with T-Lo about the merits of South African music. Bear in mind the fact that she is IN A RELATIONSHIP with a South African musician....

Domtastic: "South African music is on the up and up...it rocks hard. It is diverse, but at the
same
time unique and fabulous."

Tanyass: "It all sounds the same to me."

I now set out to prove her wrong (as usual)...

I begin with Cassette. Try this song too.

What about good old Johnny Clegg? I mean COME ON....generic? I think not. And his son; have you heard his son, Jesse sing?

CrashCarBurn!!!!! Cutting Jade!!!!!

And how can you deny the talent, passion and amazingness of Dave Matthews?!?!

And the beaaaaauuuuutiful FreshlyGround.

The band I love to love and love to dance to live...Goldfish!! These boys are oh-so talented. Show me ONE other sound similar to this.

Henry Ate!!!!!

Granted, not a great video, BUT Just Jinjer - come ON!!!!!!

Ladysmith Black Mambazo
.....!

Miriam Makeba THE CLICK SONG!

Parlotones, but I haven't bothered to hyperlink, because I know that their talent falls on deaf ears.

PLUSH!

The boys I love live. Prime Circle. And then, an entirely different sound for them.

The Nudies.

And what about Karen Zoid. A lot of her stuff in in Afrikaans, but she has some goooood music.

And I finish up with Heroes Wear Red. Tell me this does not sound like Bono from U2?

The list could go on and on and on and on....Still have the same uneducated opinion?
